Art Education & Graphic Design Game Night – Springs Eternal Collaboration

Students playing one of the educational board games.

On March 6th, the TCNJ Art Gallery hosted an event during which Art Education students in Dr. Carolina Blatt-Gross’ Art Education class and Graphic Design students from Dr. Belinda Haikes’ Graphic Design class collaborated to share original, educational games with gallery visitors. As part of this partnership, the Art Education students in this class provided content for the Graphic Design students to create physical games that enhance the learning outcomes of issue-based lesson plans. The games challenge students in age-appropriate game-based learning to think deeply about water, pollution and their role in the ecosystem. We would like to thank the students for their eagerness to participate in this exhibition and for the preparation, work, and fun they brought to our event!

All of the board game pieces, including the earth-like board, playing cards, and rules. A blue jigsaw puzzle half assembled next to the rules and a set of cards. A board game called changing tides's instruction manual, cards, and playing area.
