Fear and Folly: The Visionary Prints of Francisco Goya and Federico Castellon presents thirty-eight prints from two major print series: Goya’s etchings from Los Disparates and Castellon’s lithographs for Edgar Allen Poe’s The Masque of the Red Death. Though separated by about 150 years, Goya (1746–1828) and Castellon (1914–1971) often appear closer to one another than to their contemporaries. In these print series each artist explores the human condition through images that are both beautiful and disturbing. This exhibition is organized by the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, Kalamazoo, Michigan.
