Fear and Folly: The Visionary Prints of Francisco Goya and Federico Castellon presents thirty-eight prints from two major print series: Goya’s etchings of Los Disparates and Castellon’s lithographs for Edgar Allen Poe’s The Masque of the Red Death. Though separated by about 150 years, the works of Goya (1746–1828) and Castellon (1914–1971) often appear closer to one another than to their contemporaries. In these print series both artists explore the human condition through images that are both beautiful and disturbing. This exhibition is organized by the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, Kalamazoo, Michigan.
