Ryan Levy (he/him):

Ryan Levy is a lens based artist from Toms River, New Jersey. He graduated from The College of New Jersey with his BFA in photography and video. Prior to attending TCNJ, he received his Associates in music at Middlesex County College.  Passionate about concert photography and videography, Levy works with musical artists to capture their lives on and off the stage. He extends his practice by photographing moments from hikes in the great outdoors.  In light of the pandemic, Levy began incorporating the techniques of sculpture and installation.  He has described his work as a reflection of his personal experiences, “both positive and negative”. He works as a photo/video assistant for photography and media artist Jay Muhlin at his company, Lemon Juice Projects. As for his next chapter in life, Ryan has expressed that his plans are to work for Paychex, a HR, payroll, and benefits company.  He is also looking forward to continuing his work in photography and video.

Ryan Levy’s Senior Exhibition piece, Where’ve you been, Where you are is a self-reflective installation showcasing the artist’s journey to transform their body. He intends to address the struggle with body dysmorphia, stress eating, and the extent those go to change their body.  This is expressed through the use of photography and found objects.
