From May 6 through May 22, the 2015 senior BFA thesis class presents the exhibition Spectrum. Drawing upon the definition of spectrum as a “wide range of varied but related ideas, the individual features of which tend to overlap to form a continuous series,” the exhibition is a culmination of work centering around many levels of reconciliation with memory, identity, and experience of self. The intersection of the works in the exhibition allows common threads to emerge from a breadth of styles and mediums.
The fine arts and lens-based arts seniors include Christina Behnan, Amanda Braxton, Ashley Butera, Stephanie Chou, Emily Culbertson, Philip Retji Dakum, Marko Gidej, Katherine Kahn, Jenna Ladyhin, Christian Lambert, Tracy Lee, Benjamin Gregory Schuckman, and Victoria Rose Weiss. Artist talks will be presented on Wednesday, May 6, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
The opening reception for the exhibition is Saturday, May 9, from 1 – 4 p.m. Parking will be available in Lots 3 and 4. Exhibition hours are May 6 to 17, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 12 – 7 p.m., and Sunday, 1 – 3 p.m., with special commencement hours Thursday, May 21, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., and Friday, May 22, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
