Hakuna Kama Mama: A Photo-Voice Exhibition presented by TCNJ Women & Gender Studies Department

Hakuna Kama Mama: A Photo-Voice Exhibition is a result of a three-day Photo-Voice workshop in the rural island community of Nungwi, Zanzibar approximately 75 km off the coast of mainland Tanzania. Ten students from TCNJ, led by Dr. Marla Jaksch (faculty in Women’s and Gender Studies at TCNJ), traveled to Tanzania as a part of the summer faculty-led program, “Gender Politics of Development in Tanzania.”

On display are photographs and artifacts created by Zanzibari women who participated in the Photo Voice workshop during summer 2013. TCNJ students who participated in the project include: Mark Fagan, Rachel Fikslin, Alyssa Fountain, Elizabeth Maxwell, Maia Mitchell, Danielle Murphy, Francesca Muscatello, Joanna Peluso, Madhoolika Rao, and Kathleen Smith
