Ensky [in-SKYE] & A Nu Show: Presented by the BFA 2014 Class

The 2014 Senior Thesis class is pleased to present “Ensky [in-SKYE]”, an exhibition responding to the influences of the unconscious and the exploration of enlightenment. Using diverse media, each artist considers his or her own perspective on the ways of looking and the impact of the visual. The variety of work further challenges perceptions of physical and emotional boundaries.

“A Nu Show” is the second exhibition featuring the works by 2014 Senior Thesis students. Through recontextualization, this exhibition challenges the artist’s interaction between the gallery space and their works, offering a special challenge to them. With limited time, the artists must transform the gallery into a workshop in order to modify their existing work, currently on view. The artists must reimagine their artwork as a material in itself, to create a brand new work by only adding one element.

Closing Reception: December 6, 2013

The thirteen students are: Ellena Adia, Sarah Andresen, Christine Austin, Heather Bethune, Ashley Butera, Kalliopi Kalikas, Emily Kneis, Mariah McLaughlin, Jessielyn Palumbo, Alexis Richards, Walter J. Rouba, Sara Seich, and Martha Vincent.

Led by Professor Anita Allyn.
